Elizabeth Scott has been designing home for the past 30 years and has countless projects in both residential and commercial design. She earned a BS degree in Interior Design from Campbell University. Elizabeth loves her local beach community and is actively involved in Habitat for Humanity.
She has worked on homes in various stages and on many different budgets. She enjoys working with clients to help them make their home a haven. Her specialty is combining the use of textures, textiles & colors to create an inviting environment. Sherri Grimes started at J&K in 2004 as one of the stores buyer and showroom floor designers. She is now back working for her love of interior decorating by helping customers design their homes and condos. Customers can feel Sherri’s love for furniture, the design process and meeting new people immediately upon meeting her.
She explains: “I have access to over 70,000 square feet of furniture in our showrooms, which includes thousands of fabrics choices and accessories. Our program allows for me the flexibility to utilize out of store resources to help you complete your home. I can help with paint selection, drapes, flooring, home remodels and every other aspects of your home.”

Gretchen has worked as an Interior Designer for the past 18 years. After gaining a degree in Interior Design at East Carolina University she worked as a designer at some of the top furniture manufacturers. Having that background makes her a great fit at J&K Home Furnishings where she really understands the process behind quality furniture and pairs that with her design education and experience to meet all of her clients expectations.
Her success comes from her ability to listen to her clients needs paying close attention to detail and incorporating their personal style and budget. “One of my favorite parts of design is creating custom window treatments. To me they are the jewelry of the room along with the proper accessories.” She looks forward to working with you on your next project weather its picking paint colors or renovating a whole home.

Julie was born and raised in the South and has lived in Hilton Head Island for over 22 years. She graduated from USC and started work in retail and merchandising before starting her interior design profession 17 years ago. She has now made her permanent move here in Myrtle Beach and excited to work with J&K and their great product lines.

Karen was born and raised in Charleston, SC. Her passion for design has been evident from an early age and she ended up attending design school. She graduated Winthrop University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Interior Design and now has over 38 years of diverse design experience and unique talents.
Karen’s love for helping others is the perfect compliment to her passion for design. She worked for several years in the senior move management industry. She used her talents to create floor plans for clients wishing to decorate in a concise, yet functional way. She also spent several years as an In-Home custom window decorator completing her client’s homes.
Now that Karen has found a home with J&K Home Furnishings, she is excited to able to combine her vast experience to design whole projects from beginning to end. Karen loves “the way my designs bring out the individual personalities of my clients and helping them achieve their design dreams in an affordable, sustainable way.”
Karen and her husband currently live in West Ashley where she enjoys spending time with her family, reading and enjoying the beauty that the South Carolina Low Country has to offer.

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Laura’s journey began with her service in the Armed Forces, where she graduated at the top of her company—a testament to her drive, discipline, and commitment to excellence.
Following her service, Laura moved to New York City to study at the renowned Fashion Institute of Technology, where she honed her skills in design and developed a passion for creating spaces that are both beautiful and functional. “When you love what you do, it’s not work!” she says.
Laura’s extensive background spans interior design, remodeling, construction, and lighting. Her talent for blending structure and style allows her to work confidently across a wide range of aesthetics—from timeless coastal elegance to bold mid-century modern. Her design experience includes everything from large-scale commercial spaces to custom residential homes, and she has even been flown across the country to design homes from floor plans to final installation.

Kathleen, originally from Upstate N.Y., is enjoying her move to North Carolina to escape the snow and enjoy the sunshine year round! She is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC, with a degree in Fashion Buying and Merchandising. After graduation she enjoyed jobs in art and design as well as retail management. These jobs eventually led her to a Visual Merchandising 13 year career and ultimately her favorite role as a Personal Design Consultant.
She’s so happy to be with J&K continuing her work in Interior Design. “I thoroughly enjoy helping clients with their design and color deliemas, finding out their vision through listening to their design ideas and guide them into transferring their space into home” Kathleen explains. Anitta Martin

Anitta has been decorating residential homes and commercial interiors for the past 20 years, working on projects from simple to elaborate. There are so many details and precision that goes into each window treatment order. Anitta will work directly with her own clients and with J&K designers overseeing all window treatment orders for their clients to make sure each project is fun and simple for clients and then implemented/installed perfectly by our team each time!
Anitta likes to create an experience with each of her design projects that is focused on the client to create a space that represents their desires. “I like to begin a project by knowing the client’s lifestyle and trying to get in their heads. That way I can visualize what the end result will be before we start so there are no design choices that look disjointed” she explains. She prefers to get in on a project early on so that she can get the client well to work with confidence to satisfy their needs and better understand their vision.
